The MyoIn society has founder members with expertise in the diagnosis and management of these rare disorder. These founder members have decades of experience and their deep personal interest in inflammatory muscle disorders has fueled the formation of this society.

The patient perspective in this society is provided by a relative of a patient who is aware of the limitations of science in the diagnosis and management of these disorders and brings to the society an enthusiasm to help in pushing the boundaries.

The clinicians and pathologists in the society also are part of large national associations with many other members who are keen and ready to participate in organised efforts to improve the management and research in this area.

Dr. Sanjiv Amin kindly arranged a generous grant by the Physician Research Foundation; Academic wing of Association of Physicians of India which funded the assessment of autoantibodies in 256 patients with inflammatory myositis.

The founding members of the society have contributed the seed amount to kickstart the activities.
