Image Competition Guidelines

Limit: 5 Images Per Participant

A set of up to 3 related images of the same finding

Open to all IRA members (including DM Rheumatology trainees)

Images must be from patients under the submitter’s own care or co-care at affiliated institutes

Categories
1. Cutaneous Image:

    Images highlighting the diverse cutaneous manifestations of Myositis.

2. Radiological Images:

    Radiological images showing involvement related to Myositis.

3. Histopathological Image:

    Histopathological images including muscle biopsy findings in Myositis.

Submission Guidelines

  • Image Format: High-resolution JPEG/PNG (min 3 MP, no compression artifacts).

  • Patient Consent: Signed written consent required for clinical photography and atlas publication (the submitter shall obtain and retain the signed Patient Informed Consent and provide it upon request). Click here for a sample consent form.

  • Anonymisation: Remove all identifiers; mask eye region for facial shots required.

  • Data Sheet: Include age, sex, duration, IIM subtype, autoantibodies, and a 1–2 line description.

  • Submission: Name files SubmitterName_IIMImage_01.jpg and email myoinsociety@gmail.com with subject Image competition 3NMM.

Review and Selection

  1. Reviewed by the Scientific Committee based on image quality, diagnostic clarity, educational value, and completeness.
  2. Selected high-value or rare cases will be featured in the Atlas of Clinical Images in Inflammatory Myositis.

Important Dates

  1. Image submission deadline: 20th August 2026
  2. Winner announcement: 1st September 2026

Prize

The best three images (as selected by the judging panel) will each receive round-trip economy airfare to attend the National Myositis Meet (NMM), Ahmedabad, on 19 September 2026.

Note: winners are responsible for their own accommodation and registration for NMM
